Heterogeneous Vinyl
A heterogeneous vinyl is one that relies on a surface wear layer over a backing. The wear layer thickness varies from thin 0.15mm residential qualities through to 1mm contract quality.
The backing generally of foam allows for more underfoot comfort. As technology develops so does this type of product with Domo’s Sensa System, Pural stain resistance and Microban antibacterial technology.
Homogeneous Vinyl
This is vinyl that are solid colour and pattern from the top surface to the back. Thicknesses vary but are generally around 2.0mm thick.
Homogeneous vinyls are generally specified in commercial heavy wear areas. Homogeneous vinyl pattern types are more limited than Heterogenous with the bulk of pattern’s being speckled or mottled.
